An alternative to making it in house.
Six disciplines under one roof, from the first cut through to a finished component with the paperwork behind it. Here is what we do, and what it takes to move a program here.

Employee Owned
Built around quality critical parts.
Flinchbaugh Engineering is an employee owned contract manufacturer in York, Pennsylvania, serving selected vertical markets in the capital goods sector. For more than 40 years we have given major corporate clients a sourcing alternative to machining quality critical precision parts and product lines in house.
Our campus runs across five buildings, each focused on the requirements of a specific type of application. Inside them, skilled employee owners run current machine tool technology in a cellular structure shaped by Lean Six Sigma and TPM.
The commitment to Kaizen and to customer satisfaction is what sets the floor apart. Visit us and the reason becomes obvious quickly, our employee owners are the competitive advantage.
What we build, and who it is for.
From single piece flow cells through to certified inspection, we deliver finished components with the documentation and traceability your buyers expect.
Precision CNC Machining
Multi axis turning and milling of close tolerance parts in carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys, and gray and ductile iron.
Iron runs here alongside steel on the same floor, which matters when you are placing subcontract or WDO machining and most shops will only quote one or the other. Work runs in cells set up for single piece flow, so a part is not queuing between departments between operations.
Strategic Cell Migration™
A defined process for moving an existing product line out of your plant and into a Flinchbaugh Engineering facility, tooling, programs and shop knowledge included.
The existing process gets documented before anything is loaded on a truck, so the part that leaves your floor is the part that arrives on ours. Nothing gets lost in the handoff.
Quality & Inspection
APQP, PPAP and first article reporting, with traceability running from raw material through to the component that ships.
Inspection sits inside the cell rather than bolted on at the end, so a problem surfaces at the machine while it is still cheap to fix. Our quality systems are audited by the OEMs we supply.
Engineering Support
Design for Manufacturing input, prototyping and process development, from concept through to a production ready part.
Behind the engineers sit quality, production control and purchasing teams with enough depth that a hard problem gets solved rather than queued. Send a drawing early and we will tell you which features are going to cost you money.
Materials & Finishing
Carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys, gray and ductile iron, bought as part of the job rather than supplied by you.
Finishing, heat treat and coating run through our own supply base, so the component arrives complete instead of arriving as a stage in someone else’s process.
Aerospace & Defense
Work that needs AS9100 and ITAR registration runs through Billet Industries, our sister company, for prime contractors and the US Government.
Same ownership culture and the same standards, so a program that spans commercial and defense work stays inside one relationship rather than two supply chains.
How we take work on.
Before you send a drawing, this is the shape of business that fits here.
Tier 1 supplier
Leave the raw material purchasing to us and take back a total finished component. If finishing, subassembly or secondary processes are involved we coordinate those too, so your sourcing team carries one relationship instead of six.
Available capacity
Our plants run 24/7, though not every channel runs at once. On average one to two shifts of capacity sit open across the board, so new work can start on current assets, and a strong balance sheet means we can invest when a project needs more.
Volumes we process
We are not a job shop and we do not chase one off work. We look for steady repeat business that suits cellular manufacturing, thousands of pieces a month on some parts, a few dozen to several hundred on heavy complex ones.
The envelope we work in.
Manufacturing is organised into 38 channels set up for single piece workflow. If your part sits inside these limits, it is worth a conversation.
Milling and drilling
2″ to 110″
Across the full range of channels.
Turning diameter
½″ to 78″
Small components through to large diameter work.
Part weight
Up to 10,000 lb
Handling and fixturing built for heavy parts.
Where most work sits
12″ to 36″ cube
Most of our capacity serves this range.
Workflow
38 channels
Cellular, single piece flow, Lean Six Sigma and TPM.
Materials
Steel to exotics
Carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys.
Sitting outside these numbers does not close the door. Send the drawing and we will tell you straight whether it belongs here or somewhere else.
send your specifications.
We review every quote request directly. No call queues, no scripted responses.
