Buyers ask this first, so here it is plainly. Your purchase order goes to one company, and the registration behind it is held by that company.
Flinchbaugh Engineering
ISO 9001:2015
Held by Flinchbaugh Engineering Inc. since 2004. Commercial work quoted by Flinchbaugh and machined on our York campus is made under that quality system.
Flinchbaugh does not hold AS9100 or ITAR registration in its own right.
Billet Industries
AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015, ITAR registered
Our wholly owned aerospace and defense company, running its own plant about a mile from our campus with its own team.
Work that needs AS9100 or ITAR is quoted by Billet and made at Billet, under Billet’s registrations.

An audited quality management system for how work is quoted, planned, made, inspected and corrected. For you it means repeatable supply to a documented standard, not to one person’s habits. Registered since 2004.

The aerospace quality standard. It builds on ISO 9001 with added controls for risk, configuration and product safety that aerospace and defense primes expect from their suppliers.

Registered with the US Department of State to manufacture defense articles, so controlled drawings and technical data stay inside a registered operation.

An audit checks the system on the day. What holds it up between audits is how the floor is run, and here that belongs to the people doing the work.

We are 100% employee owned, so quality is not one department’s job. Everyone here is working toward the same result, a customer who keeps ordering.

Improvements come from every level, and taking part feeds into yearly profit sharing, so people have a real reason to speak up.
Lean Six Sigma in the cell
Parts run in cells set up for single piece flow, with Six Sigma methods used to plan around risk and keep variation out of the process.
On time, by system
A modern ERP system drives delivery performance to MRP II Class A levels, so the date you are given is one the schedule can hold.
The paperwork that ships with the part.
A registration is the audit. What you actually receive is the documentation, and it is planned before the first chip is cut rather than pieced together after the part is made.
APQP. Every new part goes through advanced product quality planning before production, with the process built around where it could go wrong.
PPAP. A complete production part approval package, showing the process runs to plan and repeats.
First article reporting. The first parts off a new or changed process are measured against the drawing and reported before the run is released.
Traceability. Records follow the part from raw material through to the component that ships.
OEM audits. Our quality systems have been audited and approved by OEMs including Caterpillar, Siemens and SKF.
